A thrilling finish to the Onchan Triples Competition as Janice Pilling delivers the perfect wood in the Golden Bowl shoot out. After an enthralling afternoon of some terrific bowling the Final played between Eric Maddocks, Phil Smith and John Kewley against Phil Addy, Mike Moyer and Janice Pilling was level at 6 shots each. The tie break in this unusual situation was determined by a single bowl shoot out between nominated players from each team. Janice having won the toss for the shoot out gave the mat and first bowl to opponent Eric Maddocks who drew to a yard past the jack. Janice, who had been the star performer throughout the day took extra care over her delivery and chased her wood all the way down the green where it came to rest about a foot short to win the end and take the trophy for her team.
