It is that time of year once again for the World Bowls Singles Champion of Champions event to be staged this time moving onto Adelaide, South Australia. This year’s champions representing the Isle of Man are Janice Pilling and Clive McGreal who have earned the privilege by winning their respective National Singles titles in 2018. This will be the second world singles championship for Janice having acquitted herself very well at the competition in Sydney last year. Similarly it will be Clive’s fourth foray into the prestigious tournament hoping to go one better than his successful performance last season where he reached the play off’s only to lose on a tie break to the talented Malaysian thereby just missing out on a medal. Both players have been in good form throughout the season and have recently returned from the European Championships where their solid performances helped lead to the Isle of Man team to their best ever finishing position in that event.
