Each season the Onchan Commissioners kindly sponsor a Triples Competition for the club providing the prizes however, with the odd number of members entered for the triples competition requiring an extra player the Chair of Onchan Commissioners, Zara Lewin, who was on hand to make the presentation had no hesitation in taking up the invitation to join in the event. Miss Lewin was drawn in the same team as fellow Commissioner David Quirk and Scott Widdowson and performed remarkably well for her first time out on the lawn bowls green with their triple finishing in 3rd position. Just ahead in 2nd place was the trio of Pat Lenton, Mike Moyer and Dee Lewis who battled extremely well in the challenging conditions. However, it was the old timers of Maddocks and McGreal maintaining their form from the previous week in winning the Ruby Cup, joined by new member Lorraine Widdowson, who was undoubtedly the star of the show in lifting the trophy as her maiden victory in the club. Our thanks to Onchan Commissioners and new honorary member, Zara who we hope will become a regular visitor.
