It was a fine ending for the partnership of Marilyn Ellison and Trevor Quayle clinching the Mixed Pairs Title with a triumph over Win and John Kewley in a closely contested final which finished 17-9 in favour of the champions. This victory should stand them in good stead and provide a boost of confidence as they head off to the European Championships at the end of the month with both players due to make their international debut at the event.

In the Ladies Pairs final there was little to separate the pairings of Dee Lewis & Libby Andrade playing against Glynis Drinkwater & Greeba Paramor. For much of the game the pairings traded shot for shot and with the scores tied level after 18 ends the dreaded 1 end tie break came into effect in which the more experienced pairing of Dee & Libby managed to gain the vital shot that saw them take the match 16-15 and win the title for the second occasion.

For the men, it was a clash between the holders Clive & Mark McGreal, against the experienced Eric Maddocks and Dave Ball. It proved to be a real close encounter. Both pairs showed good form and exchanged shots throughout. The match was finely balanced for much of the contest with Eric playing some exceptional bowls to keep his side in the game. However, the pressure finally told and with just a couple of ends to play Mark helped secure 3 shots to take a 6 shot lead into last end and eventually closed the match 18-13 to secure the title.
