Our club was pleased to host a visit from a group employed by the local office of Flutter International, the global sports betting organisational, which is currently assisting grass roots sports through their grant programme.

The group enjoyed some fabulous September sunshine and were quick to learn the basics of the sport before battling it out in a competitive knock out competition drawn in pairs. The standard of performance was quite remarkable given that for the majority it was their first outing at lawn bowls. There were even a few talented individuals amongst the group that would challenge the regular members of our club.
Whilst the main purpose of their visit was social bowling and fun entertainment there was also that competitive edge which saw the winning pairing of Graham and Ellie (photo below) coming out on top to earn the bragging rights and perhaps organise a return visit next season to defend their title!
