Following on from Clive McGreal & David Slack’s win of the Tenerife International Open Pairs competition January last year, David returned to the Island to defend the title with a new partner.

The competition is always fierce from the locals, the Spaniards and other nearby nations, but given the attraction for many bowlers wishing to escape their respective regions for some winter sun, the number of Brits adds an extra level of class and competitiveness.

Despite it being a last minute decision to enter due to not having Clive to compete with, David teamed up with a local lady and quickly established a good partnership. So good in fact that they dominated the field and managed to retain the trophy. A fantastic achievement, one that supports the decision to include him in the senior Atlantic Championship squad later in the year.
